Stephanie Scheer Awarded 2017 Howard Heidbrink Scholarship

Larry Hart presenting to Stephanie Scheer

Stephanie Scheer is a graduate of New Haven High School in New Haven, Missouri.  She is currently a student at Central Methodist University (East Central College Campus), Union, Missouri working on a major in Middle School Math Education.

Stephanie shares that she made her decision to become a teacher while she was in the fourth grade.  She wants to be in a small district similar to the one she grew up in where she can help students reach their full potential while enjoying school.   She adds that her passion for teaching has been fueled by a family full of educators who have worked in small Missouri schools.  She hopes to follow their example and be a role model, leader and source of inspiration for her future students.

One of her college instructors shares that Stephanie has great initiative, a desire to learn and a bright future in the education field.  Another instructor notes that Stephanie will be an asset to any community that is fortunate to have her as a teacher.   A high school teacher shares that Stephanie’s educational experience in rural Missouri will help ensure her success in a rural school district as she knows the challenges that exist.

We are very pleased to present Stephanie Scheer with the 2017 Howard Heidbrink Scholarship award!
