Seth Schenck Awarded 2017 Forrest T. Jones Scholarship

Kyle Kruse presenting to Seth Schenck

Seth Schenck is a graduate of New Haven High School in New Haven, Missouri.  He is currently a student at Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri working on a major in History Education and a minor in Secondary Education.

Seth lists the strong sense of community, smaller class sizes and the interest that parents, businesses and community members had in his education as key reasons that he is attracted to teach in a rural school district.   Seth also notes the significant influence that several of his rural teachers had on his development.  Seth plans to have an impact on the school, the students and the rural community in which he lives.

One of his college instructors shares that Seth’s potential as a leader continues to grow and that he is well-respected among his peers and the college faculty.   A high school teacher notes that Seth’s intelligence, drive, personality, character and attitude will allow him to thrive as a teacher.

We are pleased to recognize Seth Schenck as the 2017 Forrest T. Jones Scholarship recipient!
