Haley Wilkerson Adams

Forrest T. Jones & Co. 2012 Scholarship Recipient

Haley Wilkerson Adams of Rogersville, Missouri, is a graduate of Logan-Rogersville High School.  She is currently attending William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri, majoring in Music Education - Instrumental.

Haley shares she went to a high school with the money of a suburban district, but the feel of a rural school district.  It was really nice to have the feeling that I knew everyone personally in the school.  A rural district also provides a very personalized and intimate classroom climate.  When there are fewer students in the room, it allows for more one-on-one instructional time for students.  Teaching in a rural district also will be a great way to know my own teaching style.  While there will be many responsibilities, it will give me a chance to experience teaching on my own terms as well as a chance to build a program from the ground up.

One of her college instructors shares that Haley has an unusually vibrant attitude about teaching.  She has demonstrated an intense and lasting curiosity about the art of teaching in her class work and discussions.  Through this professional attitude, she has maintained a position of practical leadership that has a positive effect on her classmates.  Her scholarship is borne out in her superior preparations for the classroom.

Showing a tremendous dedication to her study of education by going above and beyond what is required to further her knowledge, makes it appropriate to congratulate Haley Wilkerson Adams as the 2012 Forrest T. Jones & Company Scholarship recipient.
