Kelsey Carver

2013 Associated Electric Scholarship Recipient

Kelsey Carver is this year’s recipient of the Associated Electric Scholarship.  Kelsey graduated from Holden Missouri High School and is currently attending the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO working on a major in Middle School Education with a minor in Mathematics.

Kelsey shares that her professional goals consist of working as a middle school mathematics teacher and volleyball coach in a rural school district.  “I want to be a positive role model to my students and players, exemplifying good choices and a passion to make a difference in their lives as well as their community.”  Three positive experiences have influenced my desire to teach in a rural school district.  They include growing up in a rural school district, my parents diligently working in one, and my teachers and coaches constantly encouraging me.

One of her college instructors share that, “I was particularly impressed by the leadership Kelsey demonstrated in class discussion and small group activities.  She is supportive of her classmates and is always willing to help others who are struggling with class content.  These characteristics as a classroom teacher will serve her well and I am pleased that she has decided to become a teacher.”

Having the knowledge, leadership skills, work ethic and personality to be a successful teacher, makes it appropriate to congratulate Kelsey Carver as the 2013 Associated Electric Scholarship recipient.
