Abigail Bilyeu - 2020 "Kenneth W. Cook Scholarship" Recipient

Abigail Bilyeu

Abigail is a graduate of California High School in California, Missouri.  She is currently a student at Missouri State University in Springfield working on a major in Elementary Education.

Abigail plans to "be a positive face for her students on a hard day, someone that they can trust and look up to, and someone that can help and encourage them to be the best that they can be."  She further notes "I see the career of teaching as one of the most important occupations in the workforce and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be an educator."

A college professor shares, "As Abbie enters the teaching profession, she displays the pedagogy, knowledge and disposition needed to be an outstanding teacher.  She is inquisitive, enjoys learning, asks questions, leads and has confidence in her understanding of math concepts and her instructional techniques."  Another professor adds, "Abigail truly has a heart for small town schools and communities and a passion to begin her teaching career in a rural setting."

We are pleased to present Abigail Bilyeu the 2020 Kenneth W. Cook Scholarship award!
