McKenzi Schuster Awarded David M. Cooper Scholarship

Brent Cooper presenting to McKenzi Schuster

McKenzi Schuster is a graduate of Pilot Grove High School in Pilot Grove, Missouri.  She is currently a student at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, Missouri working on a major in Elementary Education with additional certification in middle school mathematics.

McKenzi wants to experience the joy of making a difference in her students’ lives.  She plans to foster creativity, develop character and provide her students with the skills that they need to reach their individual goals in life.  McKenzi hopes to make her dream of teaching in a rural community become reality.

One of her college instructors shares that McKenzi is a dynamic, energetic and talented person.  She is very pleasant, hard-working and communicates very well with others.  Another instructor adds that McKenzi will be an asset to the students in the district where she teaches.   A high school teacher noted that McKenzi was one of those students that was irreplaceable and a void was left in their school when she graduated and moved on.   She believes that the Pilot Grove community would be lucky to have her return to teach there.

It is our pleasure to present McKenzi Schuster with the 2017 David M. Cooper Scholarship award!
