Higbee R-VIII School District Superintendent Vacancy for 2021-2022
Higbee R-VIII is accepting applications for Superintendent of Schools for the 2021-2022 school year. Higbee is located approximately 30 miles northwest of Columbia and 10 miles south of Moberly in Randolph and Howard Counties. Student enrollment is 209 with 101 in the elementary, 54 in the middle school, and 54 in the high school. There are 24 certified staff members and 20 non-certified staff members.
The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of the school district and is responsible to the Board of Education for ensuring compliance with all board policies, Missouri State Board of Education rules and regulations, and state and federal laws. Candidates will be evaluated on their professional merits with emphasis on the following criteria: Valid superintendent certification; Central office experience preferred; Reputation of integrity, trustworthiness, leadership skills, and a strong work ethic; Ability to develop a positive rapport with students, teachers, administrators, and other personnel/patrons throughout the school district; Background in school finance; and, Background in curriculum.
Completed applications are due on November 6, 2020. Interviews are anticipated to be scheduled for November 11-12, 2020. Second interviews and staff interviews will be scheduled for approximately November 16, 2020, with hire date to follow completion of interviews. The 12-month contract begins July 1, 2021. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include: Board paid health insurance up to $500, life insurance, personal leave, and vacation.
