Tayler Allen - 2020 "Ray Doerhoff Scholarship" Recipient

Tayler Allen

Tayler is a graduate of Palmyra High School in Palmyra, Missouri.  She is currently a student at Central Methodist University in Fayette working on a major in Middle School Science Education.

Tayler sums up her thoughts on rural education sharing, "I see the beauty in the little things.  Things such as a close community, a support system and a comfortable environment cannot be overstated when it comes to education.  Not only do I wish to convey the facts written in a textbook, but I want to have a positive influence on students and watch them interact with their world in a positive way because of something that I did or said that influenced them."

A college professor shares that "Tayler is a natural leader in the classroom and beyond.  Her fellow students and professors respect her and value her input. Another adds, "Rural schools face many challenges and I feel that Tayler's overall drive for success will be an asset in meeting these challenges with enthusiasm and resourcefulness."

It is our pleasure to present Tayler Allen the 2020 Ray Doerhoff Scholarship award!
