Jamie Suzanna Tuttle

2010 Associated Electric Scholarship

Jamie Tuttle is a graduate of the Higginsville High School, Higginsville, Missouri.  She is currently attending the University of Central Missouri – Warrensburg, Missouri, majoring in Elementary Education.

Jamie shares that when thinking about my past and how much of an impact it has made on my life, a very important person comes to mind because of the words she once said.  At the senior year cheerleading banquet, my coach made a statement that echo’s in my mind: “Your future is so bright that you are going to have to wear shades.”  At the time, I did not realize what she meant, but now realize that I am standing in the light she was referring to.  Growing up in a small community has helped Jamie realize the real meaning of education and character.

One of her former teachers shares that Jamie is one of many students that I have had the pleasure of instructing that has made teaching fun and exciting.  Jamie is the type of student best described as a quiet leader who shows others how to respond and behave.  Through her creative talents, she has help create some fantastic projects including decorations for the school during spirit week.

Her college instructors share that Jamie has a great ability to work in a team situation, fulfilling obligations for class projects.  Being a good team member, she leads in a quiet manner and by example.  She understands that teaching is more than just appearing in the classroom every morning, and has initiated professional development opportunities for herself that speak highly of her commitment to be an informed educator.

Congratulations to Jamie Tuttle, the 2010 Associated Electric Scholarship recipient.
