On June 9, 2026, MARE Executive Director, Kevin Sandlin, traveled to Bowling Green R-I School District to recognize Mr. Nick Larson, Region H Board Representative.  Nick, who has been serving as the Superintendent of the Bowling Green R-I School District, is stepping out of public education to take on a similar role in the business sector.  We are grateful for Nick's two years of service on the MARE Executive Board.  We wish him the very best in this new adventure.  

On May 11, 2026 at their regularly scheduled MARE Executive Board meeting, the Missouri Association of Rural Education presented plaques to Dr. Troy Marnholtz, Region F Area Representative, and Dr. Carless Osbourn, MO K-8 Representative.  Dr. Marnholtz served on the MARE Board from July 2016 through June 30, 2026.  Dr. Osbourn served on the MARE Executive Board from July 2024 through June 30, 2026.

We are grateful for the service of these fine men!  They have been loyal and faithful supporters of the MARE organization during their careers.  

We wish them both the best as they move on to the next chapter of their respective lives.
