EdCounsel - School Governance Services

April 03, 2018

MARE is pleased to share the following information concerning the new service (School Governance Services) provided by EdCounsel, LLC.  I would encourage you to check out the information that follows and reach out to Duane Martin, Jim Henson or Dana Clippard to learn more about how this service would benefit your school district.

Public school leaders constantly strive to find better ways to serve children, and meet all the demands placed on educators.  At EdCounsel, we continue to support those leaders by founding EdGovLead, a school governance planning service.

EdGovLead utilizes experienced educators and administrators, along with our knowledgeable attorneys, to provide the following services:

·Board Development

·School Governance Audits

·Governance and Strategic Planning

·Professional Leadership Coaching

·Transition Management

·Superintendent Evaluation Tools

·Board Self-Evaluation Tools

Responsibility for governing and leading public school districts lies in the hands of the locally elected board and the professionals it hires to lead the District.  To fulfill these responsibilities, boards and superintendents must have the services of a dedicated partner who is committed to supporting the District with training, assessment, planning, and professional guidance to build a strong governance teamin an affordable manner.  We realize many school districts simply can't afford to add additional administrators to handle these responsibilities. Hence, our solution to the continual dilemma of more demands on small districts than they can reasonably address.

If the primary goal in your district is to end with student success, you must begin with a knowledgeable board, an effective superintendent, and a governance plan.  At EdGovLead, we work with your districts leadership team to tailor our services to best serve the students of each district to help you achieve that goal.
