Katheryn Crockett Awarded 2017 MEUHP Scholarship

Ken Cook presenting to Katheryn Crockett

Katheryn Crockett is a graduate of Dekalb High School in Dekalb, Missouri.  She is currently a student at Missouri Western State University, in St. Joseph, Missouri working on a major in Elementary Education with additional certification in English Language Learning.

Katheryn believes that rural school settings offer great opportunities for teachers to develop lasting relationships and that they also provide enhanced opportunities for teachers to provide individualized and differentiated instruction for all.  She wants to be able to provide the same “amazing experience” that she had as a rural school student with the next generation.

One of her college instructors shares that Katheryn has a passion for students and that she seeks constantly to improve her understanding of best teaching practices in order to be able to best meet the needs of her future students.  Another professor notes that Katheryn’s classmates respect her opinions and view her as someone they can relate to and trust.   A high school teacher notes that Katheryn’s bubbly personality, strong leadership skills and high standards for achievement will help to mold her students into strong productive members of our society.

We are proud to present Katheryn Crockett with the 2017 MEUHP Scholarship!
