Calab Ian Kauffman

2016 MEUHP Scholarship Recipient

Calab Ian Kauffman - 2016 MEUHP Scholarship Recipient

Calab Kauffman is a graduate of Weaubleau High School in Weaubleau, MO.  He is currently a student at Evangel University, Springfield, MO working on a major in Elementary Education.

Calab shares that his roots in a rural community, his ability to relate to students and parents in a rural setting and his desire to encourage rural students to realize their individual potential are the motivating reasons for his commitment to teach in a rural Missouri school setting.  Calab believes that working in a rural setting will keep him close to the things that he knows and enjoys doing such as farming, fishing, hunting and anything outdoors.  Calab spends his summers working fulltime to help pay for costs associated with school.

One of his college instructors shares that Calab’s organizational skills and work ethic have allowed him to carry a full academic load while at the same time playing college baseball.  He understands the importance of rural education and the impact that rural teachers can have within their community.  He develops a positive rapport with students and will be an excellent role model.

His belief and determination that he will make a difference in a small rural education setting makes it appropriate to congratulate Calab Kauffman as the 2016 MEUHP Scholarship recipient.
