McKinzie Cooper

2015 Howard Heidbrink Scholarship Recipient

McKinzie Cooper is a graduate of Neosho High School in Neosho, Missouri.  She is currently a student at Crowder College, Neosho, MO working on a major in Elementary Education.

McKinzie shares that since grade school, she has always wanted to become a teacher.  When she was growing up, her favorite thing to do was play “school” with a playroom full of imaginary little “Casper” students. During the school year, she has been a youth leader at the YMCA After-School Program at one of the elementary buildings in Neosho.  During the summer McKinzie works at the Day Camp at the YMCA. Having been a youth leader for the past three summers, she believes the experiences with young children will help when in a classroom of her own.

One of her college instructors shares that Kinzie’s educational work is to be admired, she is not afraid of a challenge.  She is someone that pushes herself to do her best, not even thinking of settling for less.  Because of her strong work ethic and her attention to details, those around her are always on their best behavior.  Kinzie is going to make a wonderful teacher and school leader.

With an aspiration to make a positive impact in the life of a student, just as her teachers and school did, makes it appropriate to congratulate McKinzie Cooper as the 2015 Howard Heidbrink Scholarship recipient.
