UNION R-XI SCHOOL DISTRICT
After a distinguished career in education, current superintendent Mr. Steve Bryant has announced that he will retire June 30, 2015. Thus, the Union R-XI Board of Education is seeking a student-centered, high-energy, visionary leader to fill the superintendent position effective July 1, 2015.
Union School District is a medium-size, K-12 district located off Interstate 44 at Highways 50 and 47 in the heart of Franklin County, and located approximately 25 minutes west of South St. Louis County. Demographic data are located on DESE’s website under District Profile.
The community is a mix of well-established residences with newer subdivisions that create an established blend of senior citizens to first-time home buyers. Union is the county seat of Franklin County and conveniently located near parks and recreation centers, shopping centers, entertainment venues, hospitals and medical facilities, and all other services of a combination of rural and suburban benefits, including access to colleges and universities.

Letter of interest, resume, five letters of recommendation (at least two from someone with current employer), transcripts, verification of current Missouri credentials, including certification and background check, and a two-page, double-spaced reflection on the candidate’s vision of leading the Union R-XI School District.
In addition to research-based qualities of effective school leaders, preference will be given to candidates with superintendent experience and a doctorate degree.
