Missouri Webinar Series Registration Form

During the 2009-2010 school year, the Missouri ACT State Organization Council collaborated with several state organizations* to offer the pilot Missouri Webinar Series for Rural Educators. The seven teams from throughout Missouri participating in the pilot reported that the information provided in the Webinar Series helped them tremendously in formulating dynamic action plans for better serving all of their students for college and career readiness.

ACT and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Office of College and Career Readiness are pleased to again offer this program at no charge to rural school districts.  Accordingly, we are inviting you to form a vertical team (district administrator, building administrator, curriculum/assessment coordinator, teacher and counselor-or a similar combination of personnel) from your district to participate in the 2010-2011 Webinar Series for Rural Educators. We are confident you will benefit from information to be shared, as well as from the dynamic interactions you will have with colleagues from across the state. As an outcome from participation, each team will be asked to produce a college and career readiness action plan for implementation in the months following the Webinar Series.

We will kick-off our 2010-2011 Webinar Series for Rural Educators with an orientation session on the morning of Thursday, October 14, in Branson. This date was chosen to coincide with the 102nd Convention and Research Symposium of the National Rural Education Association to be held at the Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa and Convention Center in Branson on October 15-17. Though conference attendance is not a requirement for participation in the Webinar Series, we are hoping, with this scheduling, some will choose to participate in both the orientation and conference. To learn more about the National Rural Education Association and its upcoming Convention and Research Symposium, visit http://www.nrea.net/. For those of you who may not be aware, our very own Dr. Ray Patrick, Executive Director of the Missouri Association for Rural Education, is serving this year as President of the National Rural Education Association.
