THE COMMUNITY

Strasburg C-3 School District located in Strasburg, (Cass County) Missouri in the western part of the state, is seeking candidates for the position of Superintendent of the school district.  The district is located 45 miles southeast of Kansas City, 8 miles south of Lone Jack, Missouri and 5 miles east of Pleasant Hill on Missouri Highway 58.  The community is primarily a bedroom community of family farms with parents working in the Kansas City area.

THE DISTRICT

Strasburg C-3 is a K-8 school district with 95 students in a typical academic program.  The facility was renovated and additional rooms added with two separate bond issues.  All building and renovations were completed in November, 1999.  The annual operating budget is $1.4 million.

Strasburg C-3 is scheduled for its next MSIP review in November, 2009.  The district has received " Distinction in Performance" awards three of the past four years.  The district met NCLB AYP requirements every year since 2003.  Strasburg is one of only 25% of the Missouri school districts to meet AYP this year.

SALARY/BENEFITS INFORMATION

Applicants should consider the salary starting at $55,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Prior Administrative experience and Educational Specialist Degree preferred.

Required - Missouri Superintendent's Certification or working toward it.

Successful candidate will receive paid health insurance benefits for himself/herself per limits of health insurance policy in effect at time of employment.

Additional benefits will include a $10,000 Life Insurance Policy and two weeks paid vacation.
